Alexander Technique Center of Albuquerque

Comment on Antiracism: The Alexander Technique Center of Albuquerque recognizes the institutional power and policies of inequity inherent in our society. I strive to create a safe, inclusive, and equitable learning environment, and am committed to developing and implementing best practices that dismantle racism personally, in our community, and in our society.

About the Alexander Technique: We all have the capacity to transcend what limits us. Fixed habit patterns – whether associated with trauma, chronic disease, overwork, performance, or beliefs about one’s self – can interfere with how we want to live our lives, and can be replaced with ease, flow, and moment-to-moment adaptability to whatever life brings.  Students of the Alexander Technique learn to make time and space to choose how to respond to life in each moment. They identify and release habitual patterns that cause unnecessary tension in everything they do – gaining practical skills for restoring flow and coordination, eliminating pain, and facilitating self-awareness and reintegration. Karen DeWig offers private lessons, an AmSAT-approved teacher-training program, and introductory workshops and lecture demonstrations for organizations and small groups.

Note on COVID-19: During the social distancing restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic, Karen will be offering online consultations and individualized guided explorations of the Alexander Technique. Contact Karen for more information.
